YouTube, WordPress… IRRITATION.
I cannot figure out why embedded YouTube videos are behaving so strangely in WordPress. Embedded videos are OK everywhere else, and when I switch from Iceweasel/Firefox over to Epiphany they work just fine on WordPress.
My browser is current, as is my flash plugin. I haven’t opted for HTML5 yet because I’m running an Intel machine and I don’t need it like I did when I was solely on a PowerPC Mac. That and HTML5 still seems a bit buggy.
Anyway – I need to experiment a bit. When YouTube first appeared I was convinced it was a fad that would never catch on. How much did I know? Not much.
LATER… And YouTube now doesn’t work anywhere. I haven’t tried Archive.org yet and frankly I’m not game to right now. APT wants me to upgrade my Flash plugin and that of course is a fast road to dependency hell because in doing that APT wants to upgrade EVERYTHING ELSE. So for now I’ve forced a reinstall of the version of Flash I *thought* I had and when I have access to more bandwidth I’ll let APT go nuts.
Heads and desks. HEADS AND EFFING DESKS.
